LTST - June 7, 2024 Updates - Shade for Tomorrow & Upcoming Events

June 7, 2024

Seahorse families,

As the first week of summer practice comes to an end, please read below for a handful of reminders:

Shade Structures for Tomorrow - shade structures are encouraged for tomorrow’s meet. There are four team shade tents at the pool that are outside the shed (next to lost and found/behind the fence) that can be picked up from the pool and driven over to MCC in the morning (please also plan on returning to LT after the meet).

Pool Rule Reminder - friendly reminder that swimmers under age 10 are not allowed to be unattended at the pool before/after practice. Please make sure an adult is present and actively monitoring.

Seahorse Camp starts Monday! There are a few spots still left at Seahorse Camp! Come enjoy bouncy houses, face painting, obstacle courses, animal shows and a ton of fun crafts and games! Sign up for one week, or all three! Camp Details can be found HERE and register for camp HERE. Please reach out to [email protected] with questions.

First Snack Shack Tuesday - June 11th! A lunchtime favorite awaits Seahorse families on Tuesdays! The Snack Shack Tuesday team will be selling Lunch Meals from 11:30am to 1:00pm.

7-8 Social - Tuesday, June 11th - 7-8s are invited to the age group social at the pool from 4-5:30 on Tuesday, June 11th!

Sun Valley Meet on Wednesday, June 12th - please note the meet will start at 5pm in order to finish by Sun Valley's mandatory end time. We are able to park at the school across the street. Please note that this is the first league meet of the season and once the meet sheet is sent out no changes can be made (including relays) so please note any conflicts when you declare by tomorrow!

Sign up for Battle of the Ages by Friday, June 14th at 5pm! Battle of the Ages is a 2-day invitational meet hosted by the Pleasant Hill Dolfins on June 29 and 30. At this meet, swimmers compete against other swimmers of their OWN AGE - for example, 11 year-olds swim only against 11 year-olds. 12 year-olds swim only against 12 year-olds. It's a particularly fun meet for swimmers who are in their "down" year. As with other invitational meets, you may choose your swimmer's events. Please read all the details on the website calendar. There are entry fees associated with this invitational meet. Families are responsible for $10 per swimmer, and LT will pick up the remaining balance. Your card will be charged once entries are finalized. There are no refunds. The deadline to enter the meet is June 14 at 5:00 PM. Also note that participating families will be asked to work a short timing shift at the meet.

Seahorse Moms Night IN - Friday, June 21, 5:30pm @ 725 Los Palos Dr - $30 pp. This year we are switching up the format for Seahorse moms night and instead of hitting the town, we'll be gathering at the Lupardus house for an evening of wine, light bites, and fun on Friday, June 21. Your ticket covers drinks and snacks and we will challenge everyone's taste buds with a blind tasting / competition, led by our very own Seahorse Sommelier, Colleen Mahoney. Festivities start at 5:30pm; street parking is available but bike riding is encouraged; the Lupardus home is about a quarter mile north of Las Trampas on the trail. To register, please send $30 to @LTSTtreasurer and write "moms night" in the notes.

Seahorse Dads Night Out - Friday, June 28, 6pm @ Canyon Club Brewery - $40 pp. Come join your fellow Las Trampas Swim Team Dads for beers, appetizers, and good times at our favorite local brewery. We've got tables reserved outside and your $40 ticket will get you food and a limited number of drink tickets (you can purchase your own once we run out)! Please feel free to car pool or even ride your bikes up to Moraga. To register, please send $40 to @LTSTtreasurer and write "dads night" in the notes.

Las Trampas Rumble - Sundays: June 23 (tentative), July 14 and August 11 @ 9am at LT - $30 per class. Grab a friend and join this bootcamp-style workout hosted by our Burton Valley neighbor, Danielle Freda. The locally famous Rumble backyard boot camps are designed to build strength and muscle tone, endurance, functional movement, and overall mobility. They are high energy and FUN, and our Seahorse moms had an awesome time at these classes last year. Don't forget to bring a water bottle and towel. To register, sign up here and Venmo $30 per class to @LTSTtreasurer and write "Rumble" in the notes.

Thanks for reading!
