Dearest Seahorse Families,

We are approaching the halfway point in our season! As the saying goes, time flies when you are having fun, and we certainly hope you are enjoying the season as much as we are! Here are a bunch of updates to help you prepare for the second half of the season. Rumor has it there is a link to a free parent spirit shirt in this email (if your family is attending DCSL), so please read through carefully!

1. Our lost & found area is overflowing! As a reminder, the lost & found is cleared out monthly, with a donation run scheduled for Monday, June 30th. Please look through this weekend/during the meet to reunite your family with missing towels, goggles, etc.

2. Enjoying the fun and taking some great photos of swimmers? Please submit photos here for our end-of-year slideshow that will air at Awards Night on August 16th. Please include the last names of swimmers featured to help ensure everyone is included in the show.

3. Friendly reminder that private lessons, other than those scheduled through LTST.org are NOT allowed at Las Trampas Pool. We are working with coaches to see if their schedules allow for additional lessons after the Fourth of July break - we will report back! Also, a reminder that our pool rules state that no lessons from outside instructors may be given at LT.

4. Our rockstar merch team will be on deck during Saturday's meet to sell the remaining spirit wear inventory - please stop by and purchase LT gear - we still have lots of opportunities to sport our LTST pride after the break (plus we love seeing LTST gear spotted in the wild!)

5. Our DCSL championship meet is one month away! This is the culmination of the season for the majority of our swimmers, and our opportunity to really shine as a team! Your participation is very important as the margins between team standings have historically been very slim - every point, every swimmer, every race counts! We will continue to share out information in the upcoming weeks, but for now:

• Please go in and declare as soon as possible (no later than Saturday, 7/12). We hope that your family can participate fully on both days of this 2-day trials-and-finals format meet. However, if your family is not available one of the days, please mention that in the declaration notes so that your swimmer is assigned to events on the day that you will be attending.
• Every family (including those with Star Jobs) will be asked to perform a parent job at the league meet. Jobs will open on Tuesday, 7/15, at 8pm.
• To celebrate our biggest meet of the year, we thought it would be fun to show off our SEAriously amazing parent spirit and create a wave of turquoise. We added two new shirt options to our team store and we are offering them FOR FREE for any parents with swimmers competing at DCSL. Here is the catch: you need to order via the team store ASAP if you want one! What you need to know:
  • We are offering two styles with a goal of being bright and coordinated on the pool deck: a unisex tee and a women's tank
  • At checkout you must choose the "deliver to store" option and choose the Walnut Creek location
  • These free shirts are only for parents of kids that are swimming at DCSL, limit two per household
  • In order to get these in time you need to order NOW! And by now we mean by 10am Monday, June 30 at the absolute latest. After 10am they will be going back to full price on the website, and not guaranteed to arrive before DCSL, so order now before you forget!

6. LTST plans to attend the HOX Last Chance meet on Sunday, 7/20. While this meet is not officially a seahorse's last opportunity to secure a final pop or gold cap (as this meet is before our final dual meet and DCSL), it's a great opportunity to compete in additional races... and withOUT a parent job commitment! Note that there IS an entry fee associated with this meet. Please know that signup for the HOX meet is currently closed, but we will open it once we have the page set up to accept entry fees. More information to follow after the LTST July break.

7. And of course, two housekeeping items to help keep our facilities in great shape:

• We love the simple fun and games kids play at the pool - unfortunately this play cannot include balloons as the broken balloon pieces clog the filter - please keep water balloon play at home!
• We love seeing all the seahorses biking to and from practice - please remind your biker to respectfully park their bike in the bike rack / away from the handicap spot.

8. We only have practice on Monday and Tuesday next week. We hope our seahorse families have a restful and safe holiday break!
