Updated Springbrook Pentathlon (Invitational)

Participation in the Springbrook Pentathlon is by invitation only to 60 swimmers from Las Trampas (5 swimmers in each age group). Invitations have been extended by the LTST Meet Director based on Coach Andrew's direction. 

PARKING: Parking is permitted in the parking lot, the long gravel driveway, legally on the neighborhood streets and in the Acalanes High School parking lot. Please DO NOT park along the gravel driveway, there is not enough room to parallel park along the opposite side of the driveway. Also, please DO NOT park in the church parking lot across the street from the gravel driveway.

TEAM AREA SETUP: Please see Team Area map below.  Please do not arrive for setup before 7:15 AM on Sunday morning.  You will not be allowed to set up until after 7:15 AM.  SPBK has turf and asks that you do not use any tent spikes/stakes or anything that can penetrate the ground. Thank you for your cooperation.

WARM-UPS: Las Trampas has been assigned the 7:45-8:05 AM time window, in lanes 5-8 for warm-ups.

ENTRY RULES: 

  • Each participant must be entered in all five events (4 events for 6U age group) 
  • 15-18's stroke events will be 50 yards (not 100 yards)
  • Only registered swimmers may swim 
  • NO substitutions once the meet starts 
  • Swimmers may NOT swim up age groups 

ORDER OF EVENTS:

  • IM (ages 7 and up only) 
  • Butterfly
  • Backstroke 
  • Breaststroke
  • Freestyle
  • FUN RELAYS following the meet (All timers need to stay for the FUN RELAYS): 
    • 15-18 and 6U Age Group Scramble
    • 13/14 and 7/8 Age Group Scramble
    • 11/12 and 9/10 Age Group Scramble

AWARDS:  The overall awards will be determined by a compilation of times from each event. The swimmer with the lowest overall time will win.  There are no individual event awards distributed. 

PROGRAMS AND T SHIRTS: Programs and t-shirts will be sold at the entrance.  

  • $10, printed program (digital version $5)
  • $26, 2026 Commemorative t-shirt

FOOD: The Springbrook Snack Shack, BBQ and Kona Ice will be available during the meet.  Penguin Soft Serve will arrive 11am, setting up in the parking lot with if you and your kids want to cool off with a treat!

This is a special Saturday EVENING meet, and a chance to have some fun with our neighborhood rivals!

Come for the races; stay for the Family Social with DJ and dancing!

PARKING: The Church has a concert happening on the same night, so we may NOT use their parking lot.

SETUP: Setup may begin at 2:30 PM.  Please do not set up earlier than 2:30, as a courtesy and in fairness to our general members. 

SNACK SHACK: 

  • Seahorse Smashburgers (+ cheese) Brats + sauerkraut

  • Chicken Burritos (rice, beans, cheese marinated chicken) + salsa on the side

Cost is $40/dad and sign-ups close 6/20 at 8pm. No refunds will be issued but tickets can be transferred if you can no longer attend.

PARKING: The parking lot will be closed to traffic. Street parking is permitted in the neighborhood. Please arrive early to allow ample time to park and walk. Also, please be kind to neighbors by not blocking driveways.

SETUP: The visiting team area where we may set up is on the upper (back) lawn behind the snack shack.

ENTRY NOTES: 

Order of Events: 15-18 50 yard Freestyle, Medley Relay, Individual Medley, Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke,
Butterfly, Free Relay

  • Swimmers are limited to two individual events plus the IM and two relays.
  • For the 15-18s, the 50-yard freestyle counts as one of the two individual events.
  • WHO Pool has five lanes.
  • For relay and IM events, Lane 5 will be used as an exhibition lane that does not score.
  • For IM events: The IM is limited to one heat for each age group and gender. LT may enter 3 male swimmers and 2 female swimmers to swim the IM for each age group. WHO will use Lane 5 for female IM events and LT will use Lane 5 for male IM events. The 3rd swimmers in Lane 5 will be marked exhibition only.
  • For Relays: For Wednesday night meets, WHO runs A-team relays only. There will be one heat per age group with both the male A teams and female A teams. Lane 5 will be open during Wednesday relay events.
  • Inclusion of the free relay will be dictated by the projected completion time of the meet and it may not be included if the projected completion time of the meet is after 8:45pm
  • With the exception of the 50-yard freestyle, all 15-18 events will be 100 yards.

Cost is $50/mom and will be held in the Robyn & Dennis Mahoney backyard on Thursday, 6/18.

Please note that we will not offer refunds, but you are welcome to find someone to take your ticket if you can no longer attend. 

Attendance is capped at 40.

  • PARKING: There is a small lot at the pool and plenty of street parking. Do not block driveways or gates as you will be towed.
  • SETUP: Visitors team area is on the grass on the north side of the pool adjacent to the dive pool. 
  • SNACK SHACK: A variety of hot and cold food, drink and treats will be available during the meet. The snack shack accepts cash or Zelle ([email protected]).

OTHER MEET GUIDELINES:

  • All timers and recorders for both teams are required to mute electronics during the meet.
  • No cameras or recording devices are allowed behind the diving blocks.
  • No parents should enter the area behind the diving blocks except when working as timers/recorders.
  • Due to water depth, timers will move to the shallow end of the pool for 25 yard races that mandate diving (including 6&under & 7/8 Free, Breast, & Fly).
  • Swim meets must end by 9:30 pm on Wednesdays due to our agreement with the neighborhood. No music played on speakers after 9pm.
  • Diving pool is open for 13&up swimmers to warm up and warm down only.
  • The shallow entry steps and baby pool are off limits during the meet.
  • The play structure is also off limits during the meet.

WARM-UPS: We have been assigned the 7:45 - 8:00 AM warm-up block. Lane 7 is for our warm-up use.

DIVISIONS: The A and B events will be seeded after each event. The actual A and B Divisions for the Pentathlon will be determined after all events and will include only those swimmers who have completed all five events. Additionally, only those swimmers completing all five events will be considered in the “A” Division team standings.

AWARDS: At the end of each day, the times for all 5 events (for swimmers who chose to swim all 5) will then be added to calculate each swimmer's Pentathlon time; distinctive medal awards for 1st - 8th place for both A and B divisions. Ribbons will be awarded to the 1st – 8th finisher for both A and B divisions in each event. Team trophies will be awarded to the top five (5) teams after the meet on Sunday.

VENDORS: All vendors should take cash and electronic payment, but please have cash available if payment systems are having issues.

  • Food: DHST Otter Cafe, Big Kahuna Shaved Ice, Teaspoon, Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck
  • Swag: Pentathlon Apparel by GIC Graphic Wear
  • Programs & Highlighter- Program $10, Program sales begin at 4pm on Friday at the candy/program table near the cabana.

There will be Parent Jobs associated with participation in the Devil Mountain Pentathlon, however these will not be available for signup until closer to the meet.  Please keep in mind that if you commit to this meet, you are committing to a Parent Job, to be determined later.
